We hope and pray that each and every one of you has a happy, healthy and iman filled Ramadan. The month of Ramadan is a time for reflecting, improving, growing, sacrifice, healing, and giving for the sake of Allah. It is a time in which Muslims, inspired by the message of the Quran and the sunnah of the Prophet (sallahu alaihi wa salaam), look within and beyond themselves to address some of the legislated ways they can get closer to Allah (subhana wa ta’ala).
As many of you know, Masjidul Ghurabaa is at a pivotal and very important point in striving toward our goal transitioning from renting to ownership. Due to geographical circumstances that have continued to bring hardship on the believers, this Ramadan will be our last in our current location. Therefore, we have set a goal to acquire some land to build a community.
Throughout the country, we are facing increased scrutiny from opponents to the dawah efforts of Muslims in general and specifically as those striving to be upon the minhaj of the salafus-saaleh. This is the case in spite of the fact that history has shown that whenever the tenets of Islam have been engrained into a society, it has made a significant positive impact on the personal, moral, educational, social, technical and economic prosperity of that area.
Over the last 10 years, the Masjidul Ghurabaa community has worked hard to establish itself as a respectable Islamic entity in the Laurel, Maryland area specifically, and the Greater Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area in general. We need to remain a part of the growing fabric of the dawah efforts in this corridor, which is why we are appealing to you now, and in this fashion.
We know that you are fatigued after fasting and working all week. We want to do our part in making your Ramadan giving and sacrifices as easy as possible. You shouldn’t have to suffer driving great distances or staying awake all night thinking about where your financial support can go. We’ve taken all the guesswork away from you, that's why this Ramadan, Masjidul Ghurabaa is launching a massive “NO SHOW” fundraising campaign.

Your Wealth Will Never Decrease!
Al-Baqarah - 2:261 The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allâh, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allâh gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:261)
“And whatsoever you spend of anything (in the cause of Allah), He will replace it. He is the Best of those who grants sustenance.” [Qur'an, Saba‘ 34:39]
The Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all." [Related by Muslim (8/61)]
“And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning).” [Qur'an, Mu‘minoon 23:60]
These are extraordinary times for all of us, but we know, at the end of the day this type of sacrifice will be well worth the effort. That’s what makes your support so critical this Ramadan. The "NO SHOW" campaign seeks to raise $500,000 towards our goal of ownership.
